Shruthi Ganesh is an exceptionally gifted young vocalist and a rising star in Carnatic music. A senior disciple of Kalaimamani Vid. Shri. K.N. Shashikiran, she has been under his guidance since the age of four, receiving advanced training in varnams, krithis, voice culture, improvisation techniques, and RTPs. In addition to her guru, she is mentored by Vid. Chitravina Shri P. Ganesh and her mother, Vid. Smt. Prithi Narasimhan. In addition to her solo concerts, Shruthi also performs alongside her mother as a duo. She also studies Carnatic violin under senior violinist Vid. Shri. B.V. Ragavendra Rao and explores Western classical violin and vocal genres.
Shruthi has been performing professionally in the US and India since the age of 9, gracing prestigious venues, and has performed in the esteemed Chennai Margazhi Music Season. With over 100 solo performances to her name, she has showcased her talent at venues such as Mylapore Fine Arts Club, Bramma Gana Sabha, Carnatica, Parthasarathy Swami Sabha’s Global Heritage Festival, Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, Carnatica's Pallavi Darbar, Arkay Convention Center (Madhuradhwani), Chennai Fine Arts, Paddhathi Music Fest, Gayatri Fine Arts, GCMA, Mudhra's Paalam TV Global Fest, Kovaiyil Thiruvaiyaaru (Coimbatore), Nadha Sudha (Velachery), and Thiruvambady Sangeethothsavam (Kerala), Hamsadhwani, to name a few. Her performances have also been featured on prominent TV channels in India. In 2018, she was honored with the Young Vocalist Award at Kovaiyil Thiruvaiyaaru. Her manodharmam/ improvisation skills, presentation aspects, crisp energetic singing, and her ability to engage the audience at a very young age, have been well appreciated by eminient senior. Her recent advanced RTP concert in the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, presented as a duo with her mother, was reviewed highly by eminent musician and musicologist Vid. Dr. Radha Bhaskar, and she was featured in Mudhra's Paalam festival. Shruthi's repertoire encompasses a variety of compositions and RTPs from the rich musical lineage of her gurus, and her crisp, dynamic singing, versatility and powerful voice that can traverse multiple octaves, have earned her a unique place in the hearts of rasikas.
Shruthi has won several prestigious Carnatic music competitions, including the Category Winner Title at the 2021 Malaysia International Music and Dance Competitions, where she also won multiple sub-categories, including the Advanced Manodharmam category. At just 13, Shruthi earned her Carnatic music teaching certification from Carnatica and now co-teaches with her mother. She also helps create free learning modules for her mother’s “Vidhyaadhaanam” project, and teachers and mentors students at all levels, including advanced manodharma levels and concert preparation.
